Medical Weight Loss for Adults Over 40 in Williamsville, Amherst and Buffalo
Who This Is For
This page is for adults over 40 who have done the work and still feel stuck. Maybe you eat well most days, you stay active, and the scale barely moves. Maybe your energy, sleep or mood shifted in your 40s or 50s and the old approach stopped working. Maybe you have thought about medical weight loss but want to understand your options before deciding anything.
You do not need to know what you want before you reach out. You also do not need medical treatment to train with us. Many members coach with Applied Fitness alone, and some add medical support when it fits their goals. Our studios serve Williamsville, Amherst, East Amherst and the wider Buffalo area.
How It Works at Wellness Collective Rx
Medical weight loss at Applied Fitness runs through our partner, Wellness Collective Rx. Every medical decision is made by a licensed provider, not by our coaches. Here is what the process looks like.
First, a licensed provider reviews your health history, your goals and anything else they need to understand where you are starting. Then they talk through whether medical support makes sense for you, and if so, which kind.
Options may include GLP-1 medication and hormone replacement therapy (HRT). HRT is available now. Medication may help with appetite and weight for some adults, but it is not right for everyone, and your provider decides what, if anything, is appropriate. Some people decide medication is not for them, and that is a perfectly good outcome too.
While your provider handles the medical side, your coach handles training, nutrition habits and check ins. You get one team working from one plan instead of piecing it together on your own. To learn more about the partnership, visit our Wellness Collective page.
Why Strength Training Matters Alongside It
When weight comes off, some of it can be muscle. After 40, muscle is harder to build back, and it does a lot of work for you: it helps you climb stairs, carry groceries, stay steady on your feet and keep doing the things you enjoy.
That is why we pair medical weight loss with coached strength training. Lifting with good form, a few times a week, may help you protect muscle while the weight comes off. Enough protein supports that work, and your coach helps you build simple eating habits around the foods you already like. If you want the background, read why strength training is non negotiable after 40 and how much protein you really need.
The goal is not just a smaller body. It is a stronger one that keeps working well for decades.
The Applied Fitness Difference
Applied Fitness has served this community since 2007. Our founder, Brian Meisenburg, has more than 20 years in fitness, most of it spent coaching adults over 40. He also holds a United States patent named "Metabolic Reset for People Over 40", which reflects how long he has worked on the questions this page covers.
What sets us apart is how the pieces fit together. Private and small group coaching, nutrition support, progress check ins and medical guidance live under one roof, at our Williamsville studio on Main St and our East Amherst studio on Transit Rd. You can read more about our team and hear from members on our testimonials page.
For a structured start, Strong Again Rx is our 8 week program that brings training, nutrition and medical support together. There is no spot limit, and like everything we do, results vary from person to person.
